New theme song.

Check out this awesome simulation of the Avatar state.

I am going to be doing this, which means this fic will be updating every Tuesday, and it will probably be updating there, not here. As such, I consider this the last week for pandering requests. If you want Korra to get a pet bunny that shoots lasers out of its tail, now's the time to say!

Try to solve the definitely rational plot ahead of time, guys. Who blew up the hospital? When will Korra figure out who her party is? When is Zolt going to totally kill Mako like he is gonna? And when will we be seeing some Korrasami lezphysics action dammit.

OH AND THE SHOW'S OVER CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW IT WAS Spoilers

Spoilers

Can't disagree. See /r/TrueAnime's thread about the ending (not that it's actually an anime, but nevermind).

Meh, I liked it. I think that a lot of what people have a problem with is the romance stuff, which seems like a stupid thing to focus on, especially given how much of it is subtext, and how unimportant it was compared to the three or four plots in play.

As an ace bra I find the virtual war over shipping baffling (I think they say the three things not to discuss over dinner are politics, religion, and shipping), but I don't really care who the characters end up with. Everything else sucked too (and I wanna bitch about it).

u/AmeteurOpinions [+1] Finally, everyone was working together. (18 hours later)

I didn't even watch the last season, actually. Season three bored me too much.

u/None [+2] (21 hours later)

Season 4 is much better, only about as bad as season one overall.

u/sicutumbo [+2] (11 hours later)

Even after searching, I see no threads on the ending. Link?

Whoops! I'll edit my comment.

I've been reading this for some counterpoint to the insanity that's been happening on tumblr. (Why do people even use tumblr anymore? It's only good for madness and pornography.)

u/xamueljones [+2] My arch-enemy is entropy (15 hours later)

The key words are madness and pornography.

u/None [+1] (a day later)

Also ponies.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAASHA!!!

u/None [+1] (a day later)

Sha?

u/xamueljones [+1] My arch-enemy is entropy (a day later)

Typo....if you believe it's possible to mistype laughter that hurts your belly afterwards.

I think what the finale really needed to work right was a "Reconstruction Effort" Montage between the final fight and the wedding. Not much - just some shots of Asami in a hard hat or construction mech and Korra Rubble-Bending. Because logically, both of them would be up to their eyeballs in that effort, and it would make the romantic vacation ending feel more logical and less rushed.

u/Timewinders [+1] (22 hours later)

I thought it was pretty good. Not as good as ATLA, of course, but seasons 3 and 4 redeemed the show for me. Less focus on romance, no deus ex machina, and interesting character development for Korra and some of the side characters like Lin. The villains were good too, though I do agree that they Korra book 4 Like /u/alexanderwales said, the romance had so little screentime that, though it did come out of left field, I don't think it took away from an otherwise strong ending.

You can fix your spoiler-tax syntax, that's for sure.

THIS FIC IS FUCKING AMAZING

I AM IN AWE

That said, it's a bit... ham-handed? or perhaps cheesy that you reference the Sequences by name. Not that I am complaining, it works form an in-world perspective, just not from a meta-textual perspective.

u/None [+2] (14 hours later)

Y-You know, the ancient mystical airbending sequences....

u/mhd-hbd [+3] Writes 'The World is Your Oyster, The Universe is Your Namesake' (14 hours later)

Yeah xD It is kind of funny, just startled me a little.

And making airbending into rationality is surprisingly smooth and convincing. Like, really, really convincing. It's almost disturbing.

u/None [+1] (a day later)

Much of Eliezer's material is written to make the so-called Art of Rationality sound like mystic Zen ninja stuff.

I know, I know. It makes really good sense, it was just... sudden.

u/cae_jones [+2] (16 hours later)

I laughed. Loudly.

u/jalapeno_dude [+2] (2 months later)

What happened to this fic? Remembered its existence yesterday, decided to check for updates today, and now it doesn't seem to exist on ff.net....

u/None [+2] (3 months later)

Author wiped it since he's "done writing fanfiction" and doesn't want to leave his half-finished work up. You can read it here if you want, but it's maximally dead.

u/xamueljones [+1] My arch-enemy is entropy (2 days later)

You want a random request to pander to? You've got it!

I looked up online for a random word generator. The twelve words given are: premium, tire, mind, plain, neat, venomous, towering, grateful, ring, teaching, books, and crowd.

My random idea is therefore...drum-roll...Korra gets a premium tire to be used as a ring for a (grateful?) bride in a marriage ceremony inside a library to teach about snakes.

blinks slowly

Ok that was a weird idea, but it's up to you to follow the idea exactly as much as you want.

u/None [+2] (2 days later)

The library teaches about snakes or the wedding does? Or the tire does?

Sounds like a quest item. Easy enough.
