Hmm, I wonder if there is a reason for them to do the flower stab thing? Wonder if it's a kind of poison testing? Poisonous stuff won't cause the bloom, so it's not acceptable. Or demons can't eat blood? Hence, they do a blood drain, then eat the meat only?
