I don't know how the Guide managed to climb up to 4th -oh shit no- 3rd on top web fiction so quickly, but I'm loving it. Keep up the good work people. The guide definitely deserves it (though I should admit that I haven't read all of the fiction on top ten - only like four).

You'd think I'd be getting tired of the "Haha, these heroes have no chance, we will win soon!" quotes by Dread Emperor Something Something, the He-Died-Immediately-After-He-Said-That, but I'm not. All these quotes are so fun.

Also, I'm not sure what the nature of the ambush they set at the end? They're going to burn the 15th somehow?

u/Iconochasm [+10] (7 hours later)

They drew them past the walls, into scattered street fighting where massed formations are impossible and everything is too spread out for the Woe to find a fulcrum point, then let loose the super soldiers.

Something I noticed that was odd - hadn't thief been tasked with stealing the banners to hamstring the Immortals? Did I miss something, or is the raising of the banners an unresolved question?

u/Iconochasm [+1] (a day later)

Yes, no, yes.

u/Law_Student [+1] (a day later)

Good to know I didn't miss anything, then.

u/Iconochasm [+1] (a day later)

I'm assuming that will come into play tonight.

u/DTravers [+5] (2 hours later)

I don't believe that there'll be a more appropriate time for this. In fact, I see Catherine fighting on frozen ground right after dealing with Summer.

u/beardedrabbit [+1] (10 hours later)

Excellent addition to my gym playlist, thanks brotha.

u/DTravers [+2] (14 hours later)

If you're creative, lots of Sabaton is relevant.

When the Fifteenth face Winter, they'll be on Killing Ground but Catherine will bring them Poltava.

Mind you, the cavalry did come in handy against Summer, a shame they didn't have wings...ah well, the Fifteenth have gone to Hell and back in Liesse, I'm sure they'll be fine.

None of that applies to William, of course. He was an absolute lunatic.

Catherine please don't abandon Killian, she's cute and magical.

u/um_m [+9] (3 hours later)

I agree, but you can't deny that any romance between Cat and Archer is going to be amusing AF.

u/DCarrier [+5] (18 hours later)

But that's clearly blackrom. Killian can be her matesprit and Archer can be her kismesis. Who should fill the other two quadrants?

u/Ardvarkeating101 [+12] Father of Learning (21 hours later)

I have no idea what those are but to quote Magnus the Red "This is the kind of knowledge that should remain a secret"

u/panchoadrenalina [+5] (9 hours later)

white true, archer is Cat's equal, mote than anything Killian will ever be unless she gains a Name somehow.

that may be better for Cat

u/everything-narrative [+2] Coral, Abide with Rubicon! (a day later)

IMO i smell a new Apprentice in the works...
