“KILL THEM,” Nauk screamed.

“TAKE THEIR STUFF,” the Fifteenth screamed back.

I'm so proud of the Fifteenth right now

edit: oh fuck, those are some choice last words

u/None [+16] (10 hours later)

I know the first part of this chapter is hilarious:

Warlord,” he grinned. “We got a plan?”

“Smash through everything until weve won,” I said honestly.

“Ah, the Foundling gambit,” he gravelled. “Its never failed us before.”

“Dont say that where people can hear, and thats an order,” I hurriedly replied.

u/Nihilvin [+16] (43 minutes later)

Nauk can only be healed by fae? Looks like Killian is getting the sacrifices she needs

u/Mgmtheo [+6] The Dread Empire of Praes (an hour later)

Killian, latest member of the Woe?

u/TwoxMachina [+2] (a day later)

Burned by a Summer Fae duke, healed by a Winter Fae duchess (Cat)

u/CouteauBleu [+11] We are the Empire. (3 hours later)

Archers arrow would have torn through his knee, if he hadnt caught it. He raised a mocking eyebrow.

Then it blew.

Ooh, nice reference.

u/hoja_nasredin [+1] Dai-Gurren Brigade (8 hours later)

I didn't get it. Any help?

u/AurelianoTampa [+6] (8 hours later)

My guess?

“I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.”

u/Ardvarkeating101 [+4] Father of Learning (14 hours later)

Or The Avengers, when that exact thing happened

u/CouteauBleu [+3] We are the Empire. (21 hours later)

Yeah, it was a double reference. I was mostly talking about the Avengers one.

u/Zayits [+1] (4 days later)

I thought about that panel from Order of the Stick: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0858.html

For context, it happens after Tarquin (the guy in the helmet) repeatedly catches the arrows Haley shoots at him and stabs other heroes with them (like here: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0851.html).

u/MoralRelativity [+5] (18 hours later)

I think it's about time Catherine had some significant losses she really cares about.

I wonder what the cost of Cat going full Winter is going to be?

u/paradoxinclination [+3] (23 minutes later)

Cat and the Woe are working like a well-oiled death machine right now, they're going to need to piss off some real monsters to find more worthy opponents.

u/Yes_This_Is_God [+19] (24 minutes later)

most of her men died and Thief suffered full-body burns

u/paradoxinclination [+9] (39 minutes later)

And they took down two hundred Immortals and a Baron at the same time when they thought they could only handle one. Losing Farrier and Nauk at the same time is rough though, I'll admit.

u/panchoadrenalina [+3] (31 minutes later)

Cat fae now...

u/DTravers [+2] (2 hours later)

(I'm not going to pretend the following verse is any good, but the song is what I was thinking of after reading)

Time has worn the soldiers down, marched for many miles...
In the lands of Sun so cursed,
Time to make a stand!
Baron has scorched this nation's life,
Nothing to be left,
Anger grasps the soldiers' hearts,
Mere six hundred strong!

LISTEN, YOU EXCUSE FOR A DUCHESS!

#TRUST ME, THIS FIGHT HAS NO SUCCESS!

(By Summer)
WENT TO CERTAIN DEATH AND PAIN,
CATHERINE'S SOLDIERS SAW THEIR BANE.
SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES IN VAIN,
BY SUMMER!

Fuck, that chapter hurts.
